If you’re expecting something big, bold and new from Sleigh Bells second album you’ll probably going to be disappointed. If you’re looking for more heavily distorted pop songs that you can dance around to featuring Alexis Krauss’ almost angelic voice you almost certainly will. Reign of Terror isn’t a million miles from Sleigh Bells debut album Treats (it mostly features the aforementioned distorted guitars twisted around into pop songs) though the songs certainly sound bigger and more muscular. There are even a few attempts to vary their sound, with heavier songs like DOA, and You Lost Me could almost be a ballad (albeit a really weird one). Mostly though Sleigh Bells stick to what they know best and have produced another solid album. It isn’t 100% perfect and still has a few misses but it’s definitely worth your time. 7/10
